The SAP Crystal Reports runtime redistributable package contains the assemblies needed to run.NET applications developed with the SAP Crystal Reports SDK. If SAP Crystal Reports, developer version for Microsoft Visual Studiois not installed on the target computer, the redistributable package must be installed separately. Microsoft.NET Framework 4 (x86 and x64) Microsoft Data Access Components 2.8 (If this prerequisite is not in the list, downlod and install it) SAP Crystal Reports runtime engine for.NET Framework 4.0 SQL Server 2008 Express Windows Installer 4.5. Then build the Setup Project for either x86 or x64 as needed. So, you will have to download Crystal Reports for VS 2019 from SAP website seperately and install it. Crystal Reports Developer Edition. Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2019 is named as Crystal Reports Developer Edition for Visual Studio 2019 by SAP and it supports all the versions of Visual Studio 2019 including community edition.
In this wiki I'd like to clarify the confusion regarding the different versions of Crystal Reports and what version of Visual Studio .NET they work with.
As with most of my other wikis, I use a simple matrix that describes all the possible scenarios. Please note that the matrix only goes back to Crystal Reports version 9.1. Personally, I would not even try versions earlier than 9.1. Not to mention that earlier versions of Crystal Reports are not supported in any version of .NET... However if you have success, please do post your findings in our forums.
